Private sharing overview

Private Sharing is a platform, API and SDKs made available by that allow your app or website to request access to a variety of personal data from individuals. You can also share data back to an individual. For more information on sharing data back, please see the get data versus give data page.

It sits on top of a very powerful, private and secure telco-grade sync engine which allows users to connect to, retrieve and harmonise their data from various service providers (social, financial, health, fitness, music, etc) and store it in a library using a service under their control (Dropbox, One Drive, Google Drive, etc).

Private Sharing allows you to ask for access to user data according to a contract that describes what type of data you are requesting, what you will and will not do with it, for what purpose, how long you will retain it and how you will implement the right to forget the individual's data.
